About The Work
towards the end of the 1960s, the theme of Istanbul was added to the themes he often used in his abstract-geometric compositions. From those years to today, by using different techniques together with the canvas, it usually presents multi-layered cultural regions such as Galata, Süleymaniye, Bosphorus environs with a bird's-eye view.
About The Artist
He was born in Erbil, Uşak in 1937. He completed his art education and academic career at the State Academy of Fine Arts. He completed his residency in Spain. Painting is his passion. The art community recognizes Devrim Erbil as an artist whose palette does not dry out.
He opens exhibitions in important art centers of the world, gives conferences, his works are in museums and collections. He has been the director of the Painting and Sculpture Museum founded by Atatürk for 4 years.
He has been a manager for many years. In his academic life, he has also served as the head of the department and the founding dean. There is a museum in Balıkesir that was established in his name and has been open for sixteen years.
He has won many awards in our country and abroad. Among them, the 1966 Tehran Biennale was Dec. 1. His award and the 2nd Alexandria Biennial of 1971. It can be mentioned in the award. Today, he continues to work on new projects at the same pace.
About The Exhibition
The "Hope and Trust" Exhibition is organized in order to contribute to the “Women and Child Friendly Spaces” project carried out by the association in cooperation with Kültür AŞ, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality subsidiary of the Art for Goodness Association, in Hatay.
